In 1975, Toni took a metalworking class at school. She loved it but at that time metalworking was not encouraged as a career and certainly not as a career for a ‘girl’. So, as the responsible school leaver she was in 1980 she headed for a career in banking. In 2005 she started making amulet bags, moved on to beaded jewellery, wire wrapping and chainmaille. Then miraculously after 25yrs working in Finance and IT, Toni took up the torch again and have hardly put it down since. Turning raw metal into beautiful objects is definitely her passion. She loves the way that metal takes on a life of its own when it is bent, hammered and heated. Never afraid to try a new technique, Toni is constantly thrilled with the challenges afforded when working with metal.
